Rum Ether

🌿 Scent Profile

Woody, smoky-burnt and slightly meaty, with whiskey-like oak barrel and caramelized notes.

⚗️ Chemistry

Pyroligneous distillate (mixed ethyl esters): Ethyl acetates and butyrates, traces of higher alcohols and smoky phenolics.

🛡️ Safety

In flavors, it’s FEMA GRAS. For inhalation, its smoky nature means high concentrations can irritate eyes/nose – use sparingly. Provides strong impact; ensure good ventilation if diffusing a lot. Normal low-level use is fine.

🌍 Sourcing

Byproduct of rum distillation (wood-aged molasses).
